I explain why my grandson was out of school, and why 85 degrees in mid October in the Indianapolis area made the zoo an easy decision. I take you along to the zoo with my three year old grandson, his wagon, and his backpack full of toys. I share the animals we saw, including the stingrays, penguins, monkeys, kangaroos, flamingos, an orangutan, zebras, a rhinoceros, and the dolphin show, and that the giraffes were not out. I share why this was my first zoo visit since my safari in Africa, and why seeing penguins on a beach and flamingos in Namibia made the zoo feel disappointing.
