Welcome to the Deep Mellow Soul Funk lounge. 🐾💧 This afternoon we follow a slow river bend, where long hanging lengths of colour drift and dry in the last warm light of autumn. 🎧 Tracklist (Chapters): 00:00 The Current Runs Clean 03:04 Colour Settles Slow 06:12 Nothing Frays Too Fast 09:32 Pale Colour, Paler Light 12:44 Stones and Flowing Water 16:08 Deep Pool, Cool and Still 19:13 Every Length the Same 22:18 Cool Stones, Warm Sun 25:48 Colour Drifts Apart 28:35 Hanging Lengths in a Row 31:38 The Shallows Always Warm 34:47 Low Bass by the River 38:41 Long Banners Hang Still 41:39 Nothing Dries Too Fast 44:47 Colour Takes the Light 47:52 Every Rinse Comes Even 51:01 Cool Runs Along the Bank 54:36 Hands Follow the Same Line 57:37 Thin Colour, Thick Quiet 1:00:56 Not a Word All Day 1:04:36 The Last Length Today 1:07:32 Warm Water, Late Sun 1:10:53 Let the Colour Drift By 1:14:08 Colour Runs Downstream 1:18:06 Colour Floating Slow 1:20:48 Sway the Pole Easy 1:24:11 Long Banner Coming Up 1:27:24 Afternoon by the River 1:30:00 Cool Bank, Warm Light 1:33:43 Golden Eyes on the Warm Stones 1:36:53 Repeat Long lengths of colour hang from bamboo poles along the riverbank, catching the last warm light of an early autumn afternoon. Every so often a breeze moves through and the banners sway, trailing their lower edges into the shallows before settling still again. The current runs slow and clear over a bed of smooth stones, warmed through by the afternoon sun, and carries the faintest trace of colour downstream with it. Nothing here is in a hurry — the work of the day is mostly done, and what's left is just the river doing the rest. Down where the bank flattens out into warm, dry stones, a small black cat has claimed a patch of afternoon sun. Golden eyes half closed, tail curled in close, entirely unbothered by the water moving past just a few feet away. The bass sits deep and analog underneath it all, with a warm baritone drifting over soft brushed drums and a vintage Rhodes. Ninety minutes of unhurried grooves, built to stay in the background while your afternoon drifts by. If this one keeps you company this afternoon, please hit Like and subscribe to the channel.
