Fleming-Neon 1991 vs. Evarts (Round 1 of Class A Playoffs)

The Pirates host and win their first playoff game since the late 1960s. The win would not come easy, as the Evarts Wildcats rolled into Fleming-Neon with Scott Russell, Kentucky's then all-time rushing leader who would soon be crowned Mr. Football (award given to the state's best football player). Add that Evarts had soundly beaten Fleming-Neon twice over the span of the two preceding seasons and the stage was set for an uphill climb for Head Coach "Side Saddle" Jack Hall and his persevering Pirates.
