Selecting baby koi is very different from buying larger finished koi. With tosai, we are looking for body, skin quality, pattern, development, and what the koi may become over time. We also sit down with Mr. Ogata and ask what makes his koi different, how he thinks about breeding, and what he looks for when raising young koi. This video shows the process of sorting through many young koi, comparing them, narrowing down the group, and learning directly from the breeder.
