I’ve spent some time meditating in the book of Habakkuk—a dialogue between a prophet’s questions and the Lord’s answers. Woven through it is a simple but powerful call: to be silent and in awe before God’s plans. The first two chapters show Habakkuk wrestling with God, struggling to understand the coming hardship for Israel. Yet God gently opens his eyes to see a greater purpose. Habakkuk responds with the words, “The Lord is in his holy temple; let all the earth be silent before him.” In the final chapter, Habakkuk turns his wrestling into worship—a poetic prayer filled with vivid imagery of creation bowing before its Creator. His heart settles into trust, finding peace in God’s sovereignty. Art: Bryan Hancock Violin: Anna Thye Trombone: Micah Newquist
