WWII Tanks in Action: The Ardennes Revisited

From January 17 - 22 2020 a large convoy of tanks and vehicles drove through the Ardennes to commemorate the 75th anniversary of the Battle of the Bulge. On January 18th and 19th we were there to film the convoy driving past. The tanks departed from the Bastogne Barracks and even though we were over a mile away starting up the tank engines could be clearly heard. It took a little while for the tanks to reach us and watching and feeling those tanks drive by was an amazing experience, the ground actually trembles and you feel the sound of the engines in your gut. Truly amazing! The next day we parked just outside of La Gleize to film the vehicles again, then we walked up the hill to see them parked up in the center of town. There wasn't a lot of room so we had to squeeze in between the vehicles to watch them all. Also in La Gleize is the King Tiger tank that was abandoned there during the battle, it makes a small cameo in the video. Please note that the microphone decided to die on me in La Gleize so unfortunately no sound from vehicles as they leave the town. Feel free to make your own engine noises as you watch this final bit.
