Voldemort vs Grindelwald Isn’t Close

Voldemort vs Grindelwald isn't close — and most Harry Potter fans have the comparison backwards. Voldemort split his soul, commanded the Death Eaters and seized the Ministry of Magic, but Grindelwald was going after the Statute of Secrecy itself. In this Harry Potter lore deep dive, we compare the two most dangerous dark wizards in the Wizarding World: their goals, their followers, the scale of their wars, their magical power, and the one time their stories collided — inside Grindelwald's prison cell at Nurmengard. We cover Grindelwald's "Greater Good" ideology, the Paris rally, his manipulation of Credence, and his attempt to win the International Confederation of Wizards election in Fantastic Beasts: The Secrets of Dumbledore. Then we look at Voldemort's Death Eaters, his takeover of the Ministry, his Horcruxes, and how his obsession with the Elder Wand led to his downfall. Finally, we explore Dumbledore's relationship with both dark lords, including Ariana's death and the Dumbledore–Grindelwald blood pact. This isn't just a "who would win in a duel" video. It's about what each dark wizard was really trying to become. 💬 Who do you think was the more dangerous dark wizard, Voldemort or Grindelwald?
