政大振聲合唱團68屆年度公演《七八個星天外》 指揮｜黃育緯 鋼琴｜賴姮鈺 I Dream A World 詞｜Langston Hughes 曲｜David L. Brunner 本曲由David L. Brunner（1953-）受託創作，旨在慶祝位於加州帕薩迪納、以致力於社會正義聞名的諸聖聖公會教堂（All Saints Episcopal Church）成立 125 週年。作曲家特別選擇美國哈林文藝復興詩人Langston Hughes（1902-1967）的詩作，描繪一個沒有貪婪與歧視，唯有愛與和平滋養大地的烏托邦。 全曲以「逐音節」（syllabic）的創作手法，旋律緊貼語言的自然韻律與語氣起伏，音符隨字句的意群推進而自然流轉。曲中保留英文原句 "Where every man is free"，彰顯詩中跨越界線、擁抱全人類的寬廣襟懷。這是一首由「詞」牽引、以語意發光的樂曲；歌者將懷抱著「夢想足以推動改變」的堅定信念，詠唱出對更光明未來的真切盼望。 I dream a world where man No other man will scorn, Where love will bless the earth And peace its paths adorn I dream a world where all Will know sweet freedom’s way, Where greed no longer saps the soul Nor avarice blights our day.
