The Marshall Tucker Band - In My Own Way (Live From The Capitol Theater) [Official 4K Music Video]

"In My Own Way" shows a quieter, more personal side of The Marshall Tucker Band on their biggest night in 1977 This official 4K music video preserves The Marshall Tucker Band's performance of "In My Own Way," recorded live on February 18, 1977, at the Capitol Theatre in Passaic, New Jersey. It's the eighth song in the 14-track set that makes up the archival live album Carolina Dreams Tour '77. The band's complete original six-man lineup — Doug Gray, Toy Caldwell, Tommy Caldwell, George McCorkle, Jerry Eubanks, and Paul Riddle — plays "In My Own Way" at the exact point their career reached its commercial peak. That same year, the studio album Carolina Dreams sent "Heard It in a Love Song" to No. 14 on the Billboard Hot 100, a defining chart moment for the group. Slower and more reflective than the set's rockers, "In My Own Way" lets Doug Gray's vocal and Jerry Eubanks' flute breathe within the arrangement. The restored 4K footage captures small details in the performance, the band's expressions, the Capitol Theatre lighting, that earlier transfers never fully showed to viewers at home. Watch "In My Own Way" in 4K and hear how this Southern rock band balanced grit with genuine tenderness across one unforgettable night at the Capitol Theatre in February of 1977, a night preserved in full on Carolina Dreams Tour '77.
