The End of Oak Street | Who was this even made for!? (Spoiler Review)

The End of Oak Street desperately wants to recreate the magic of Eighties family movies, complete with kids on bikes, suburban drama, dinosaurs and a very John Williams-inspired score. But does David Robert Mitchell actually capture that magic, or does the whole thing feel forty years too late? In this spoiler review, I break down the film’s generic characters, surprisingly violent dinosaur action, bizarre time travel ending, Anne Hathaway and Ewan McGregor’s performances, and why I’m still not entirely sure who this movie was actually made for.
