What changes when we begin to understand emotions not as obstacles to leadership, but as the lens through which we lead, make decisions, and relate to others?
In this final session of our Book Club series for now, we revisit key ideas from Dignity in Leadership by Marcel Brunel and Dan Newby, exploring emotional agility, self-worth, and the role of dignity in how we show up at work, at home, and in our relationships.
Together, we reflect on how temporary emotions can shape lasting decisions, how our beliefs about our own worth influence our behavior, and why recognizing an emotion is only the beginning. The real work lies in understanding its message and choosing how we respond.
This session also explores the practice of emotional maturity, the importance of small, intentional behaviors in creating lasting change, and how dignity can guide the way we listen, set boundaries, take responsibility, and lead.
As we pause this series, we leave with a question worth carrying forward:
Where can you begin applying what you've learned about emotions and dignity in your life, family, and career?
Thank you to everyone who has been part of this learning journey. Though the series is taking a pause, the work of understanding ourselves and how we relate to others continues.
