A buffered Solution is one that resists a change in pH when hydroxide ions or protons are added. The most common practical example of a buffered Solution is our blood, which is able to maintain a pH of 7.4 for normal blood. A buffer can have a weak acid and its salt and a weak base and its salt. We can calculate the pH by using a ICE Table or by Henderson-Haselbalch Equation.
