I even add my own Baritone Vocals to Music Track trying to match Lucy Thomas Note for Note and Performance Style. Lucy Thomas is in a League her own. I have never heard anyone with so much Natural Talent. Her Dynamic Vocal Range and Physical Performance Delivery Style is something no one can imitate. Lucy Thomas’s performance of her New Original Solo “Brand New Day” is a masterpiece of vocal perfection. Lucy demonstrates her vocal finesse, adds another genre and delivery style on top of the dozen she has already mastered. She has successfully blended Broadway, Pop, and Soul together in such a way that listeners are captivated from the very start. This music will be used as the Theme Song for a New TV Series. Lucy has already recorded her "Hallelujah" Theme song for a New Movie as well. Let’s not forget she is the Main Character for “Rosie The Musical” to open in West End London Theater, the Gold Standard for Theater in the World. While many singers overuse Riffs and Runs to cover up their sloppy singing, Lucy performs both smooth as silk. Her technique adds depth and dynamics to an already beautifully performance. Riffs and Runs are common in certain genres. Some famous singers are known for giant ones up, down, and all over the scale. It can be distracting and even exhausting to the listeners. It is Vocal Gymnastics with each singer trying to outdo the other. Lucy’s precise note placement, perfect enunciation, and physical delivery are so crystal clear that listeners never have to wonder what she just said or meant. Listeners are not left wondering where this is going. Fans already know that Lucy treats each song as a Novel, having a beginning, middle, and end. New listeners will immediately be able to relate and know exactly where they are in Lucy’s story she is telling us through her singing. Many of us don't want the Story to end. Lucy has a very unique technical vocal skill. It is used effectively several times in “Brand New Day”. I first noticed it several years ago in a different song when Lucy was younger. It was so unique that I pointed it out to Lucy. I am so pleased that she is using it again, and it has only gotten better. There is no Vocal Term for it and I have never heard another singer ever perform it. I will simply Label the Technique "Lucy Thomas Accentuation” or LTA. Notes about Riffs and Runs: Riffs and Runs can be overused and actually distract from the performance. I call it Vocal Gymnastics and they can exhaust the listeners. The sounds tend to be muddy and the listener is not sure where the song is headed. Riffs and Runs are more common is certain genres and some singers are known for giant ones all over the scale. Many other singers abuse it to cover up their sloppy singing. Notes on LTA (Lucy Thomas Accentuation): This vocal technique requires extremely precise note placement, more precise enunciation, and more precise performance skills. Riffs and Runs can be learned with practice. The LTA Technique is far more difficult. In LTA vocal technique, each individual note is distinct. Pitch can go both up and down and often goes both ways within same word or phrase. The individual notes are short, maybe 1/16th's or even 1/32's but can be longer. The notes are very precise and you can hear each note easily and distinctly. Also the notes may not be in same order on scale and can jump between notes. Even the volume can jump up or down between individual notes. I have heard it performed with words and phrases, even when mouthing sounds. Add perfect vibrato on top, you will immediately notice the difference between LTA versus Riffs and Runs. You will remember LTA (Lucy Thomas Accentuation) as a new baseline measurement for real talent. The fact I have never heard it in the over 50 years I have been involved in music except for Lucy Thomas probably means no one else can even perform it. I added my own vocals and tried to match Lucy.
