Sacred Companions: What Our Animals Want Us to Remember | Monica Rose

This week, I sit down with psychic medium and animal communicator Monica Rose to talk about what our animals are trying to tell us, and how their messages can change the way we love and grieve. A few years ago, Monica's life came apart all at once. A relationship ended, she lost a grandparent and close friends, and she was dealing with health challenges of her own. And in the middle of it, she adopted Ruby Rose, a rescue dog with her own health problems and trauma. Caring for Ruby led Monica to Reiki, then to animal communication, and then to mediumship classes so she could reconnect with her best friend in spirit. Monica explains how her mediumship training changed the way she reads animals. She set aside the standard questionnaire and now lets each animal lead with messages arriving as images, feelings, words or a quiet knowing. She shares stories from her readings, including a cat who remembered a past life as a lion, dogs whose behavior problems pointed back to their humans' stress and a bored dog who chewed books because that's where people get knowledge. A lot of what animals want from us comes down to mindfulness: let go of worry and guilt, just slow down, and stay in the present moment with them.
