Mayor's Military Induction Ceremony

I am pleased to partner with local sponsors to host the Mayor's Military Induction Ceremony. Officials from the U.S. Armed Forces and community organizations will salute the decision made by local high school students to enlistment in the military. Recruits will be honored with a ceremonial stole, receive a Certificate of Appreciation, and be presented their first challenge coin from the Mayor’s Office. The ceremony also includes the ceremonial administering of military oath and a musical tribute. The keynote address will be given by General Robin Rand, USAF (Retired), a four-star general and former commander of Luke Air Force Base. Venton Blandin, ABC15 reporter, who joined the United States Marine Corps in 1998 and received an honorable discharge as a Corporal, will be the master of ceremonies at the event.
