Welcome to Mr. Diskarte Channel, and to Buhay Probinsya — Episode 2.
It brings me so much joy to have you here. Thank you for joining me once again as we share our quiet and simple life here in the countryside.
Come along and walk with me for a while. Let us enjoy together the beauty, the peace, and the happiness of living close to nature.
🌧️ WHAT WE SHARE TODAY
For today’s video, I would like to share with you a simple meal — something many may call survival food: warm rice porridge.
It is a comforting Filipino dish, made by boiling rice — regular or sticky rice — with water, broth, and ginger, until the grains soften into a thick, creamy consistency.
It is the perfect food for stormy weather, especially when the monsoon winds blow strong.
Lugaw is truly the perfect survival food base. In fact, it is one of the best survival foods here in the Philippines! While it may not provide complete nutrition on its own, in times of need or crisis — it becomes your most powerful resource. With just a small amount of rice, you can feed many people, keep them strong, and provide nourishment and hydration all at once.
And even though the rain keeps falling, I have also started building our bamboo fence — work goes on, rain or shine!
