We arrived at the base parking around 11:00 AM, geared up, evenly split our camping load—tents, portable butane stove, and rations—and hired a local guide to navigate the rugged Sahyadri trails. Setting up camp on the ridge brought a whole new challenge: high winds that refused to let our firewood catch.
