A breathtaking 4-minute aerial journey over the heart of Syria, captured in stunning 4K HDR BT.2020. Join me on my 2026 Syria trip as I fly the DJI Mini 5 Pro and DJI Osmo 360 II over the ancient, resilient cities of Homs and Hama. This video collage takes you through the skies of two of Syria's most historically rich and battle-tested cities, showcasing a blend of spectacular ancient architecture, modern resilience, and glorious Islamic history. Hama & The Ancient Water Wheels We begin in Hama, a city perched on the banks of the Orontes River. Famous for its ancient "Norias" (massive wooden water wheels dating back to the Byzantine era), Hama has a deep historical legacy. However, it is also a city of immense sorrow. In 1982, Hama suffered an unimaginable massacre under the brutal regime of Hafez al-Assad, where tens of thousands of civilians were killed to suppress an uprising. Today, the enduring turn of the water wheels stands as a testament to the city's unbreakable spirit. Homs & The Capital of the Revolution Moving south to Homs (historically known as Emesa), we glide over a city that was once a thriving industrial hub and a center of religious diversity. During the recent Syrian Civil War under Bashar al-Assad, Homs was dubbed the "Capital of the Revolution." The city endured some of the most ferocious and devastating sieges, suffering relentless bombardment and starvation tactics that left entire neighborhoods in ruins. Yet, amidst the scars of war, the soul of Homs remains alive and defiant. The Tomb of the Undefeated: Khalid Ibn Al-Waleed A deeply special part of this journey is our visit to the legendary Khalid Ibn Al-Waleed Mosque in Homs. Inside, I take you to the tomb of one of history’s greatest military minds. Known as Sayf Allah al-Maslūl (The Drawn Sword of God), Khalid Ibn Al-Waleed remains the only military commander in recorded history to remain completely undefeated in over 100 battles. Leading Muslim armies against both the Byzantine and Sassanid Empires, his tactical genius shaped the course of history. Flying over his mosque and viewing his final resting place is a profoundly moving experience. 🎥 Gear Used: DJI Mini 5 Pro, DJI Osmo 360 II 📺 Format: 4K HDR (BT.2020) If you enjoyed this cinematic look into Syria’s past and present, please like, Comment, and subscribe for more aerial tours and travel documentaries! #Syria #Homs #Hama #KhalidIbnAlWaleed #DJIMini5Pro #DJIOsmo360 #DroneVideo #4KHDR #SyriaTravel #History #Resilience
