These body butters are great in some ways as they are rich, moisturising and great for people with very dry skin. They are not so great however when the weather is too hot or cold and you end up with a pot of melting oils or a tin with a rock solid butter inside! That is why we are bringing you emulsified body butters today. An emulsified body butter is a slightly more complicated formula, but don't panic, it's really not too difficult! An emulsified body butter is MUCH more stable in different temperatures and will not start melting away on a warm day or firming up when the weather chills down. To create an emulsified body butter you will need an emulsifier - something that binds the oils and water in the recipe together. We are working with Ecomulse today (also known as Ritamulse SCG). We purchased our Ecomulse online from The Soap Makers Store (in the UK). This recipe is not quite as whipped and fluffy as our anhydrous body butters but it glides on to the skin and feels fantastic! The recipe that we have used to create our body butter is as follows: Water Phase: 48g Distilled Water 15g Vegetable Glycerine Oil Phase: 4g Ecomulse 20g Jojoba Oil 5g Shea Butter 6g Cetyl Alcohol Cool Down Phase: 1g Preservative 12 1g Lavender Essential Oil If you are interested in seeing how we customise our recipe further then do check out this weeks Patreon/Buy Me A Coffee video which will be going live tomorrow (Saturday 3rd May) at 5.30pm across our Patreon & Buy Me A Coffee platforms!
