I knew her as my cousin. I didn’t know how much of her story I was missing. ❤️🇯🇲 Sunita “Sun” Ramocan joined me on JamFam Podcast, and we laughed, talked Jamaican upbringing, and finally got to know each other beyond our names on the family tree. Then we talked about her parents. Her father, Rodger, passed in 2020. Her mother, Marcia, followed in 2021. Hearing Sunita describe those losses brought home how much family can be carrying while we’re states and countries apart. She remembered her dad’s laughter. Her mother’s love for taking care of others. And the comfort she finds in believing they’re together. I’m grateful she trusted us with those memories—and with the grief she’s still living through. This is why I started JamFam Podcast. We have cousins we barely know, stories we’ve never heard, and relationships we still have time to build. As we look toward our November 2027 reunion, let’s start showing up for each other now. ❤️ Leave Sunita some love in the comments. If you knew Rodger and Marcia, share a memory. Help us keep their stories alive for the next generation.
