Aquatic Livestock Health Management

The health and security of aquatic livestock are based on the management of risks at multiple levels, including the farm, region, and country where the operation exists. To safeguard livestock health, the management of these risks should be comprehensive and connected, ensuring thoroughness and effectiveness in the strategies. This presentation addresses the importance of Aquaculture as a livestock commodity in the United States; the role of Competent Authorities in Aquaculture Health Management; and disease status determinations including pathogen detection, freedom statements, and impact to international trade.
