CPKC Kicking Horse Pass - Spring in the Rockies

In the Spring of 2026, we made two treks out to Kicking Horse Pass to catch the action on CPKC’s mainline through the Canadian Rockies. The first trip was made in late April, coinciding with Super Train in Calgary and the second trip was to meet up with ‪@100m.p.h.‬ in Canmore, at the end of May. The clips are not in any particular sequence, jumping from spot to spot for varieties sake. On the first trip we stayed in Field at Truffle Pigs, focussing our efforts between Otterdale and Morant’s Curve. Spring was late arriving this year there were some chilly moments trackside. In late May, we hit the road for a visit to the Thompson Canyon and then spent a few days in Canmore, enjoying a trackside condo. While most of the trip was spent in Canmore, we did make a trip towards Field, with stops at Morant’s Curve, Lake Louise and Ottertail, while chasing the Rocky Mountaineer westward.
