An artificial lake near Rasuwa has reportedly burst, forcing authorities to suspend rescue operations as heavy rain continues to batter the region. Meanwhile, a second overflowing glacial barrier near Tibet is raising fears of another major downstream surge. With hundreds still missing and the death toll potentially rising sharply, the question is no longer just how much destruction the Himalayas can withstand.
