San Bernardino’s feeling hot as hell She flips a precious penny in the wishing well With nothing but a chokehold on a ballet bar Hitch up with your high school honey You won’t be a star No cigar You’re gonna get it Ooo you’re gonna sweat it hard Suffer and starve What’s a bitch gotta do just to get some applause? Girls just wanna be famous Girls just wanna be famous Girls just wanna be famous Can’t really blame us Can you really blame us? Staring through her body like she’s cellophane Both her sisters found their husbands at the army base While the suit at the audition says you’ll get the part If you meet him in the lobby in the hotel bar No cigar You’re gonna get it Give a girl some credit oh god only knows What’s a bitch gotta do short of selling her soul Girls just wanna be famous Girls just wanna be famous Girls just wanna be famous Can’t really blame us Can you really blame us? A bottle blonde who packed up to New York Debbie Harry on a poster in a college dorm Singing songs to no one on a beer stained floor Spend the train ride wondering what i'm killing myself for what am i killing myself for? what’s it all for? Girls just wanna be famous Girls just wanna be famous Girls just wanna be famous Can’t really blame us Can you really blame us? #girlsjustwannabefamous #megsmith #popmusic
