In February 1983, a blocked drain at Cranley Gardens in Muswell Hill, North London, led police to Dennis Nilsen and exposed one of Britain’s most disturbing murder cases.
This documentary follows the investigation from the plumbing discovery to Nilsen’s arrest, confession, trial, and conviction. It also looks at the victims, the warning signs, and the vulnerability of people whose disappearances did not receive enough attention.
The case involved crimes at more than one North London address, including Melrose Avenue in Cricklewood and Cranley Gardens in Muswell Hill. Some victims were identified, while others remain unidentified.
This video is presented for historical and documentary purposes. Graphic images have been avoided, and no crime-scene material is shown. The focus is on accuracy, respect, and remembering the victims rather than glorifying the offender.
Content warning: This video discusses murder, human remains, vulnerable victims, and criminal investigation.
