The Abbott And Costello Show - "English Butler with Arthur Treacher" (Old Time Radio, 1943)

The Abbott And Costello Show presents “English Butler with Arthur Treacher,” originally broadcast December 9, 1943. In this NBC Camel-sponsored program, Bud Abbott and Lou Costello are joined by guest Arthur Treacher; Connie Haines and Freddie Rich are also featured. Lou prepares an elaborate dinner party for film star Lynn Bari and decides he needs a proper butler. A visit to an employment agency sends Bud and Lou into a lively round of comic wordplay, while Treacher arrives as Bari’s exacting English butler to inspect the planned occasion. The Abbott And Costello Show presents the original broadcast with a newly produced contextual introduction, a short closing announcement, and gently cleaned/mastered audio for a more consistent listening experience.
