Most people meet the Book of Enoch through its fallen angels and giants. But its first page is a blessing, and it says the vision was "not for this generation, but for a remote one which is for to come." In this video you'll see 1 Enoch 1:9 beside Jude 14–15, the manuscripts James Bruce brought back from Ethiopia in 1773, and 4Q201, an Aramaic fragment of Enoch from the caves near Qumran. No invented sources: chapter and verse, read slowly, and what the connection does not prove. ✨ In this video Genesis 5:24: the man who walked with God, and God took him 1 Enoch 1:1–2: the blessing for the righteous and the "remote" generation 1 Enoch 1:3–7: the Holy Great One on Mount Sinai, the Watchers trembling, the mountains melting like wax (Exodus 19) 1 Enoch 1:8: peace, mercy and light for the righteous 1 Enoch 1:9 and Jude 14–15: "ten thousands of His holy ones" What Jude's quotation shows, and what it does not prove Ethiopia and Ge'ez, James Bruce (1773), Richard Laurence (1821) and R. H. Charles 4Q201 from Qumran, and three ways to read the "remote generation" 📜 The Enoch's Testament Collection Every passage from these videos, as a PDF and an audiobook → {LINK} ⏱️ Chapters 00:00 A book not written for its first readers 02:04 The man God took (Genesis 5) 03:46 "Not for this generation" (1 Enoch 1:1–2) 05:48 The Holy Great One on Sinai (1 Enoch 1:3–7) 08:28 Peace for the righteous (1 Enoch 1:8) 09:16 1 Enoch 1:9 and Jude 14–15 12:58 Kept in Ethiopia, carried to Europe 14:31 The Aramaic fragments of Qumran 15:50 Who is the remote generation? 💬 When Enoch speaks of a remote generation still to come, how do you read it: the final days, Jude's own time, or every generation that opens the book?
