চা-বাগানের ঝুমুর। আসামের গোয়ালপাড়ার অবিসংবাদী শিল্পী প্রতিমা বড়ুয়ার  কন্ঠে গানটি অমর হয়ে আছে। লোকসংগীতের আরেক সুখ্যাত গবেষক ও সংগ্রাহক কালী দাশগুপ্তও প্রথম সংগ্রহ করে রেকর্ড করেছেন এই গান। ঝুমুরের আদি ভূমি ছোটনাগপুর, পুরুলিয়া, বাঁকুড়া, বীরভূম। ওই অঞ্চলের অনেক মানুষ পরাধীন ভারতে চা-শিল্পের মজুর হিসেবে বাড়ি-ঘর ছেড়ে যান আসাম বা ডুয়ার্সের চা-বাগানে। তাঁদের নতুন জীবনের আশা-স্বপ্ন দেখিয়ে নিয়ে যায় আড়কাঠিরা কিন্তু বাস্তবে ওই সব বাগানে গিয়ে তারা পরিণত হয় দাস-শ্রমিকে। সঙ্গে নিয়ে যায় নিজের মাটির ঝুমুর, ধামসা-মাদল। কিন্তু সেখানে গিয়ে রাধাকৃষ্ণ, প্রেম-বিরহের কথার বদলে ঝুমুরে দেখা যায় এক নতুন বাস্তবতার কথা। হয়ে ওঠে নতুন গান চা-বাগিচার ঝুমুর। এই নিরক্ষর মজুররাও জানে ফম আর কন্টেন্টের খেলা।  This is a tea garden based Jhumur. Noted artist Pratima Baruah of Goalpara in Assam made it immorta.  The noted researcher and collector of folk songs Kali Dasgupta as well, got this one recorded. The base land of Jhumur : Chotonagpur, Purulia, Bankura, Birbhum. With the fancy of a rosy life innumerable perople of these areas left their hearth and home and settled in the tea estates of Assam and Dooars to their utter dismay- they were dashed to the life of serfdom.They indeed carried with them Jhumur and Dhamsa-Madal. But the theme of their Jhumur made a u-turn - a place of RadhaKrishna, joy of tyrst and pangs of separation, their Jhumur started expressing their unspeakable sufferings in the tea gardens and in this manner, a new brand evolved: the Jhumur of Tea Gardens.
