Godarski Orchestra (Heinz Huppertz Tanz-Orchester ?) - Viva Maria, Pasodoble (J.Rixner), (Originally recorded in Germany in early 1940s, Polish release by Melodje (c. 1946) NOTE: In Soviet-occupied postwar Poland, "Godarski's Orchestra" was the label name of a fictitious dance band – a cover for pirated reissues of various pre-war and wartime international albums, as well as contemporary foreign dance groups with whom Poland had not signed a copyright. The first private Polish post-war record production Melodie, based in Poznań, was very prolific in releasing such pirated dance records, which were eagerly purchased until Melodje was closed down in 1948 by the Soviet bureaucrats and the state-owned Muza Records was established instead. Godarski's Orchestra most often covers German swing bands from the 1930s and 1940s, such as Michael Jary, Heinz Huppertz and others. To my ear, it's the latter who plays the paso doble "Viva Maria."
