In this SketchUp plugin tutorial, we’ll explore EdgeCraft Pro by CAD Tools Studio and demonstrate its fillet and chamfer tools. Start by comparing the original model with the rounded result. Watch how changing the edge shape changes the appearance of the object. First, let’s use 2D Fillet. Select two coplanar lines, open the tool and enter your radius and segment settings. Inspect the preview, adjust the corner and apply the result. For a supported planar path, use Multiple corners to work on several corners together. Next is 2D Chamfer. Select the corner geometry and set Distance 1 and Distance 2. Preview the angled corner before applying it. Use this when your design needs a straight corner cut instead of a rounded arc. Now let’s explore 3D Fillet. Select supported edges, faces, or a group or component. Set the radius and segments, review the preview, then apply the fillet. Use the include and exclude controls to choose the edges you want to change. Loop and Ring can help with supported edge selections, but always inspect the highlighted edges before applying. Need to revise a previous fillet? Open Edit Fillet, select the saved fillet and adjust its radius or segments. When editing a batch, select only the fillets you want to update. For the surface finish, explore Smooth surface and Keep fillet borders visible. Compare the settings to choose the appearance you want. Start with a simple model and a moderate segment count. Higher segment counts create more geometry, and the available fillet radius depends on the model’s shape and spacing. That’s a quick introduction to EdgeCraft Pro’s SketchUp tools.
