North Podcast Ep.39_Watch Your Company, Your Environment, and Your Friends | Pastor Rich Kanyali
Who are your friends? Who influences you? Who do you go to for counsel? What kind of environment are you continually exposing yourself to?
In this powerful teaching, Pastor Rich Kanyali addresses a subject that every believer should take seriously: watching your company, watching your environment, and watching your friends.
The people we continually associate with can influence the way we think, the decisions we make, the habits we develop, the values we adopt, and ultimately the direction of our lives. The Bible repeatedly gives us wisdom concerning our associations and warns us not to assume that we can continually expose ourselves to ungodly influences without being affected.
The central question of this message is simple:
Who are you walking with?
If you desire to grow in God, fulfill His purpose for your life, walk according to His Word, and make wise decisions, you cannot afford to ignore the people and environments that surround you.
Pastor Rich opens this teaching by challenging the belief that a Christian can be around any kind of company, any kind of environment, and any kind of influence and simply say, “I am strong enough. It will not affect me.”
The Word of God gives us a different warning:
“Be not deceived: evil communications corrupt good manners.” — 1 Corinthians 15:33 KJV
And Proverbs says:
“He that walketh with wise men shall be wise: but a companion of fools shall be destroyed.” — Proverbs 13:20 KJV
These Scriptures form an important foundation for understanding why our associations matter.
