Turner's Travels - Matopos National Park, Zimbabwe - "Cecil Rhodes Must Fall"?

Statues are erected to remind us of people who have helped to shape our world. With the ever changing values of moral thinking, some characters become highly controversial. Some statues could be re-branded, for example, Edward Colston the Bristol slave trader. If we deleted his benefactor role which was funded from the sale of slaves, and focused upon what is now agreed as an evil trade, the presence of such a statue would be even more unacceptable. Notwithstanding, do we need statues?
