"Russia Is An All-Weather Friend" — Evariste Ndayishimiye Speaks At Russia-Africa Summit | AC1F

Burundian President and African Union Chairperson Évariste Ndayishimiye delivered a high-profile address alongside Russian President Vladimir Putin during the first plenary session of the Third Russia-Africa Summit in Moscow. Praising Russia as an "all-weather friend" that stands by African nations through sunshine and rain, Ndayishimiye stressed that Africa comes to Moscow not as a seeker of aid, but as an equal economic partner seeking concrete investments, industrial technology transfers, and local value-chain development under the African Continental Free Trade Area (AfCFTA). Proposing a historic initiative, President Ndayishimiye called for the creation of a "global coalition against predators of natural resources" to combat illegal resource extraction, illicit trade, and financial exploitation across the continent. Responding directly to the AU Chair, President Putin welcomed the proposals, confirming that Western sanctions have driven Russian corporations to relocate manufacturing directly to African states, ensuring sovereign, protected, and mutually beneficial investments across energy, agriculture, and infrastructure. #EvaristeNdayishimiye #VladimirPutin #RussiaAfricaSummit #AfricanUnion #Burundi #Moscow #AfCFTA #Geopolitics #BreakingNews #Reuters #WorldNews LIVE FROM Moscow: Russian President Vladimir Putin chairs the second day of the Russia-Africa Summit.
