Perserverance Gold Mine exploring 01

Perseverance Mine Camp Mountain, Brisbane Two years ago I posted a video titled Brisbane Gold Mines Camp Mtn 006.    • Brisbane Gold Mines   Camp Mtn 006   This was a walk down the hill to Perseverance Mines (opened 1866). The walk in followed the old cut track down almost to the creek, then turned right, above the creek, and found a National Parks safety fence blocking off a vertical pit. This walk, here, (2026) was an exploration that followed the old track, and did not curve right as the creek neared. I reached the creek, seeking to use the easier passageway to explore. Up about 100 metres the creek branched, with the larger branch going left. I followed it left, and found evidence of mining in a shallow pit (one metre deep), about 2.5 metres wide, on the creek bank. This video follows the path down from the bitumen road, up the creek, turn around, and back up.
