5.3.3 of Griffith's Introduction to Electrodynamics 2nd Ed Ampere's Law in integral form allows us to calculate the magnetic field around a surface containing a known current, or vice-versa. In differential form, it allows us to calculate the curl of the magnetic field at a given point given the current, or vice-versa. It is a neat parallel to Gauss's Law.
