Roman Fort & Lake Pfäffikon – A lovely walk through the countryside | Switzerland

On a sunny afternoon, I set off on a lovely walk to the Roman fort and on to Lake Pfäffikon in Pfäffikon, Canton of Zurich. From the car park, I make my way to the Roman fort and, once at the top, enjoy the view over the green countryside and the lake. As I continue on my way to the lake, I walk through an idyllic natural setting and come across cows, horses, walkers, joggers and cyclists. Time and again, I catch glimpses of the lake amidst the green countryside and find myself wondering when I’ll finally reach the shore. Eventually, I spot the path leading to the lake and savour the peaceful atmosphere surrounded by nature. Two boys are fishing on the jetty, whilst covered boats are reflected on the water, creating a particularly lovely atmosphere. I haven’t seen this side of Lake Pfäffikon before, so I’m especially delighted to discover it. After my time by the lake, I slowly make my way back, passing the lido on the way.
