FAUN - Witches Reel (Live at Wacken 2026)

Stream "Witches Reel" here: https://faun.bfan.link/witches-reel „Witches Reel“ is based on an old English folk song from the 16th century, which was found in the transcript of a witch trial held under King James VI of Scotland. It describes how the witches dance “widdershins”—that is, counterclockwise and against the path of the sun. In the second part of the song we quote a passage from Act 4 of William Shakespeare’s *Macbeth*, which we like to interpret as a call for equality and equal rights despite differences in appearance. Cummer, go ye before, cummer go ye If ye willna go before, cummer, let me Ring-a-ring-a-widdershins Linkin lithely widdershins Cummer, carlin, crone and queen Roun go we Black spirits and white, red spirits and grey, Mingle, you that mingle may.
