Right now, Earth is leaking. For about a hundred years, our planet has been pouring radio, TV and radar signals into space, day and night.
So imagine an alien astronomer 50 light-years away, pointing a giant radio telescope at our Sun. What would they actually hear? Our music? Our movies? Our languages?
The real answer is much stranger. In this video we follow Earth's signals into space — from the first radio broadcast in 1920 to Cold War radars, the Arecibo message and the Voyager Golden Record — and discover why, from far away, Earth might soon sound like a planet that's gone extinct.
