Vari - Sanne Rambags

www.kamerkoorjip.nl Project: Samhain Choir: Kamerkoor JIP String Trio: New European Ensemble (NEuE) Soloist: Sanne Rambags 'Vari' means "sun" in the indigenous language of the tribes from the rainforest in Brazil. 'Vari vari' means: "May the light of the sun illuminate your path" which is used as a greeting. Sanne Rambags is a singer and composer and has shared her voice with audiences worldwide. By collaborating with musicians from diverse musical traditions, she has developed her own genre-transcending style of improvised singing. She draws inspiration from traditional folk music around the world and combines this with her background in experimental jazz to create never before heard soundscapes. Audio and video: Elbert Besaris
