A LAMENTATION FOR JACKIE

It may seem a strange thing to some, to make so much of an animal, but these two eagles absolutely captured the hearts of our home roughly six years ago. This video was created to help process my grief as well as the grief others might feel for the loss of this absolutely Iconic Eagle Couple. We lost more than Jackie, we lost the relationship that Jackie and Shadow had and the prism of light that we all enjoyed as we peered into it. And so we have suffered TWO loses and mourn two loses in this process of Queen Jackie's passing. There are many its just "A THING", and they say "well that figures, animals - especially in the wild - die or get killed". And they might find it all silly or strange but there are others, myself included, who have a deeper connection with the loss of things that are beautiful. These Eagles were epic and lived and epic tale and are deserving of something that acknowledged that. All of videos of solo flying eagles in this video are of Jackie thanks to David James who has spent countless hours shooting film and photos of these amazing eagles. Special thanks to David James and FOBBV without whom I wouldn't have been able to put this together. Be kind I am but an Amateur video editor, and amateur music remixer/editor who puts these together as a hobby. I hope this helps some process their grief during this season of such deeply felt loss. I ALSO MUST SAY I cant help but feel filled with hope for Shadows future and that he might carry on with Katie/Kadee (KD1) who showed up the next day after Jackie's passing.
