Pueblo Bonito in Chaco Canyon is one of the most amazing structures we have seen. It took over 300 years to build and sits in the middle of nowhere in the desert Southwest of New Mexico. It was abandoned mysteriously and is just one of many abandoned Great Houses in Chaco Canyon, New Mexico. Pueblo Bonito is also the most excavated and studied by archaeologists. Chaco Culture National Historical Park is a National Historical Park in New Mexico that has the biggest concentration of ancient pueblos that were castles of their time. The National Park is located in northwestern New Mexico, between Albuquerque and Farmington, in a very remote canyon. The dirt road out to Chaco Canyon is an adventure in itself.
