The Turning of the Harps 1/21/26 Verse 1 It is said in thy word they hung their harps on the willows. They wept for their loss and judgement, but yet they accepted it from the Lord. They ignored their pride and refused to sing and worship in a strange land. Verse 2 Have we forgotten thy word oh most Holy God? Do we ignore sound doctrine and worship anyway we please? What about pleasing the Lord Jesus who died for you? We worship and care more about what the Lord can do for us when we don’t even ask what we can do for the Lord? Refrain Oh, when will we turn our harps? When will our love for the Lord exceed our willingness to hear easy words? When will his precepts fill our hearts so that we care for the harder words as much? Verse 3 Oh when will we turn our harps? Those to whom Jesus Christ is Lord should turn the harps in submission to Him. Verse 4 He is the Word who was there in the beginning. Worthy of all praise glory honour. Jesus help us oh Lord to turn our harps over to you in complete submission. Refrain Oh, when will we turn our harps? When will our love for the Lord exceed our willingness to hear easy words? When will his precepts fill our hearts so that we care for the harder words as much? Final Praise is not determined by man, but God determined praise for his glory. Amen.
