WZRD interview: Meridth Hammer, candidate (D), Cook County Circuit Court Judge, 17 Subcircuit, 11/16/2025, 6:00pm (CST) Candidate (D) for Cook County Circuit Court Judge, 17 Subcircuit Meridth Hammer describes court administrative case management, how as many as 46 attorneys are on a call for separate cases and all the attorneys hear what else is happening in the other cases. Hammer delineates court workflow and the Circuit Court Divisions. Cook County probate court requires a month before attorneys must appear physically before the judge, whereas in Indiana, papers can be filed electronically and probate can be opened in four days. Hammer describes how the courts in Cook County and the judges for probate seem resistant to change and how documents have to be uploaded anyway in addition to having to be submitted to the judge in person. Hammer has a background in technology and is licensed to practice in Illinois, Indiana, and the District of Columbia. Hammer discusses the negative implications of delays in opening probate, and more. https://meridthhammerforjudge.com/abo...
