The reason why things need to slow down is simple: most situations, in their very first moment, are soaked in emotion. Whether it's anger, anxiety, fear, or even excitement—it all clouds your judgment. When you react while you're still caught up in that feeling, you almost always get it wrong. You say things you'd never say. You make decisions you'd never make. You push people away when you really want to pull them closer. There's nothing wrong with feeling—it's what makes us human. But acting on impulse almost always costs you more in the end. Slowing down gives you a tiny gap between your emotion and your action. Maybe an hour. Maybe a day. Maybe just one night. Long enough to step back, take a breath, and look at it from a little farther away. You'd be surprised how different everything looks from there. #mandarin #pinyin #learnchinese #everydaychinese #chinesepodcast #chineselisteningpractice #hsk #hsk5 #chinesestory #hsk4
