A Bible study for parents, Sunday school teachers, and grandparents — how to teach kids that God meant it for good, even when it didn't feel good. From the Wednesday table on Todd's Bible Lessons: the story of Joseph, told straight from Genesis 37–50, with the lesson part, a song the kids can sing to remember it, and review questions at the end. OUR VERSE — Genesis 50:20 "You intended to harm me, but God intended it for good." THE STORY Joseph was seventeen — his father Jacob's favorite, given a coat of many colors, and hated by his jealous brothers. God gave him two dreams: sheaves bowing down, and the sun, moon, and eleven stars bowing too. His brothers threw him in a pit and sold him to traders bound for Egypt. In Potiphar's house he did right — and was thrown into prison for something he never did. In prison God was with him and gave him the meaning of dreams. Then Pharaoh dreamed of seven fat cows and seven thin cows, seven years of plenty and seven years of hunger — and Joseph went from the prison to the palace, second in all Egypt. God was with Joseph in the pit, in Potiphar's house, in the prison, and in the palace. God was with Joseph everywhere he went.
