The book of James 1:13-27

Pastor Alex McDougald leads an OOA P & V Outreach Ministry message continuing through James 1:13–27.1 Origin of Temptation: Temptation comes from our own inner desires and sinful nature rather than from God, who cannot be tempted and does not tempt anyone.1 The Progression of Sin: Sin begins as a desire, leads to action, and ultimately results in spiritual or physical death by pulling us away from God.1 Divine Gifts and Accountability: Every good and perfect gift comes from God, requiring us to take personal responsibility for our choices rather than blaming God.1 Wisdom in Communication and Emotion: Believers are urged to be quick to listen, slow to speak, and slow to anger, as human wrath does not produce God's righteousness.1 Being Doers of the Word: We must actively put God's word into practice rather than merely listening to it and forgetting our true identity, like looking in a mirror and walking away.1 The Power of the Tongue: Uncontrolled speech and an inability to bridle the tongue render a person's religious claims useless.1 True Religion: Pure religion before God is demonstrated by caring for the vulnerable—such as orphans and widows—and remaining unspotted from worldly corruption
