A look at the reconfiguration and recommissioning of a ZeroZone transcritical CO₂ booster system following significant changes to the rack’s original operating strategy. The parallel compressors were mechanically reconfigured and tied into the medium-temperature suction group to provide additional MT capacity. Low-temperature compressor capacity was also increased to support the addition of new LT circuits and evaporator load. With the mechanical changes complete, the controls had to be re-engineered to match the new rack configuration. The Danfoss AK-PC pack controller programs were rebuilt and recommissioned, along with the AK-SM800A program, including updated compressor control, capacity management, I/O allocation, calculations, alarms, and system monitoring.
