Our ray of sunshine has crossed the Rainbow Bridge. Cooper wasn't just a part of our lives- he shaped them. He brought Chelsea and I together and has been the center of our universe for more than a decade. For so many years, Sundays belonged to Cooper. What started as simply sharing our life with our goofy golden boy became something we never could have imagined. In May 2025, we found an unusual spot on the tip of his lower lip, about the size of a pimple. Over the next two weeks, we had it checked three separate times. The first two came back benign, but the final test revealed it was cutaneous lymphoma, a rare and very aggressive form of cancer. The spot was immediately surgically removed and he started on a chemo protocol. Unfortunately there is no cure for cutaneous lymphoma, the hope is to slow progression and maintain quality of life. He was given a prognosis of 3-6 months, but he made it to 8 (we all know how Super he is). Thankfully he was 100%, unapologetically himself all the way up until the very end: happy, chaotic and full of life. You never would have known what he was battling inside. Eventually the chemo stopped working, the cancer progressed and he developed a very severe case of pneumonia. He made it very clear to us that it was his time to go and he said goodbye on the dock in our arms looking at the lake he always loved to swim in. Love you Coop. You were everything.
