In this powerful message, Bishop N. Mkhize brings a timely Word on the true meaning of thanksgiving and why it is a sacrifice unto the Lord.
Drawing from Book of Jonah 2:9, “Salvation is of the Lord,” we are reminded that thanksgiving is not a casual response but a deliberate offering. Jonah declared his thanksgiving from the belly of the fish, in a place of discomfort and distress. True thanksgiving is not dependent on favorable conditions. It is born in surrender.
In Books of Samuel 1:1–3, we see the foundation of sacrifice in the life of Elkanah and his household as they went yearly to worship and to sacrifice unto the Lord. Sacrifice was not optional. It was intentional, consistent, and costly.
Bishop N. Mkhize teaches that you cannot cheat God or the heavens. Heaven recognizes what a true sacrifice is. A sacrifice must cost you something. It must be meaningful. It must carry weight. If it does not move you, it cannot move heaven.
Thanksgiving is not just words. It flows from sacrifice. Sometimes it is painful. Sometimes it requires letting go of what you value most. But it is mandatory for those who truly honor God. Your possessions, your comfort, and your attachments must never outweigh your gratitude and obedience to Him.
This message will challenge you to examine your heart:
Are you giving God what costs you nothing?
Is your thanksgiving backed by sacrifice?
Do your possessions carry more value than your worship?
Be stirred to offer genuine thanksgiving. Be reminded that sacrifice makes way for breakthrough. And understand that heaven responds to what is authentic and costly.
