German Potato Dumplings

Hallo! Welcome to Oktoberfest! Oktoberfest is an annual festival in Munich, Germany, held over a two-week period and ends on the first Sunday in October. If you have followed my cooking channel over the past couple of years, you will know that I like to celebrate Oktoberfest here in the United States by trying my hand at some traditional German food. Over the years I have made Pork Schnitzel, German Potato Salad, Homemade Sauerkraut, Spaetzle, and Bratwursts with Beer Gravy. This year to kick off my Oktoberfest celebration, I will be showing you how to make German Potato Dumplings, also known as kartoffelklöße or kartoffelknödel. Making these dumplings were fairly easy, it was just a bit of a lengthy process. As I was making my German Potato Dumplings and mashing the potatoes together, I felt like I was making the German version of gnocchi!
